Hey Speedy!
U are right! The song we were talking about is named Popcorn… It´s a MoogClassic! Ithink the original its from the Hot Butter!
Once again – great podcast. We must talk to Dubian and try (somehow) to make a group podcast with all the DubEarth family…
Wouldn´t it be nice?
October 14th, 2007 at 18:36
Yeah it would be nice to all do one together! We can try to figure out a way to do it using the discussion list. If we all put our heads together I’m sure we can think of something!

Let’s do it !!!!!
October 15th, 2007 at 13:18
speedy is in…..let the mix come out
October 15th, 2007 at 13:23
I hear dubian saying we can mix on the discussion-list, but is it midi?
October 15th, 2007 at 13:36
Hmm well we could attach midi files to the emails we bounce around! Or play an overdub game. Like tag one person records one track (as in part like a drum or horn or synth) posts it to the list then we each add one more track and post and keep playing making new tracks and mixing our ideas with everyone elses. All we have to do is export as audio from 00:00:00.00 till the end of our idea!
October 15th, 2007 at 16:50
I don’t need midi, it was a joke.
but you make sense.
I’m interested in both just ‘djmix’ different tracks up , to growing things from the ground up, as collective. Get freaky, put on plastic , tour the nation and have a musical laugh, and mixeddrinks.

just kick back baaaack and enjoy the pleasures that come to mutli platnum selling recording artists. Attractive members (!) of the opposite sex, high quality drugs and fast and luxurious cars are just some of the things you’ll always have at your fingertips when you join the Dubearth family.

We like this family ! Our Kind if family. We’re in! Let’s ger freaky let’s get rich!

To bad no one does hip hop … I could have said we’re an organized rhyme family.
Instead I’ll just say we’re anti-corporate love-eating psychedelic overdubbers from Planet Dance

I listened to this again the a day or two ago lol It was great and it got me thinking:
Six months might not seem long but it represents a team slowly forming in time. People who’ve never recorded or thought to produce a podcast but who’s passion is taking people places.
I never told anyone what I wanted in the podcasts and I’m glad. It would have been wrong to ever start with a format…for us anyways. It allowed me to redefine what I was doing each time.
I studied litterature in both french and english and I have always been fascinated by the essay. Thoughts developing in real time. Developing with only a rough road map which can be cast aside at any moment since the goal is to simply try to think -> Essay from the french “essai”: litteraly an attempt.
These podcasts are essays in that sense. They develop as the are mixed…sometimes one song just gets you and no planning can help you resist the urge to just dive in, make the inspired choice and follow your muse. It’s people playing music and listeninig and reacting to it at the same time.
These podcasts are our children. They are organic and grow, like children, to have a will of their own.
We are the mystics who simply act as mediums for the sounds. They have a life of their own.
We are the zookeepers.

ehm…what was I saying lol
March 29th, 2008 at 04:48
you were saying that you listened to this episode again.
And then you started to make sense….
March 29th, 2008 at 06:58
hmm good that’s what I thought but sometimes you worry that it isn’t understandable lol :O
