We just got in ebay some new/old stuff. A Theremin just arrived. This was the first time we try it and recorded it. Sorry about the non-production cares, but this was really a jam; i don’t know if i can precisely do it again.

Just the Theremin (yes  – the fantastic bass it’s just me shaking my fingers in the air!) and the KaossPad for sampling, drums and some effects!

Wait till the MS-20 arrives…

This podcast was an one take liveact experience recorded at our experimental in-sane room of creation, the Covil. This is the first act of a synesthesic sensorial ambience trilogy; the other two acts will be further podcasted.

The concept of this trilogy emerged from a demand that we attended for a synesthesic soundtrack for an artistic installation/happening, creating different ambients and sensations, sometimes quite contraditory with all the other senses; this will happen from 10 to 17 May @ CCCTV in Torres Vedras, Portugal. A small room will be covered with natural growing grass and images will be projected all over the room and walls. People should enter there in bare feet and sit in the grass and just watch, listen, smell and feel… Or maybe just shut the eyes and rest…

Raymond Scott, DEVO, Caetano Veloso, John Cage, Otto Luening, Stockhausen, Xennakis, Can, Amon Duul II, Acid Mothers Temple, Sonic Youth, Daft Punk, Tangerine Dream, Neu!, Meredith Monk, Sidsel Enderson, Tony Conrad, Pauline Oliveros, Implog, Boris PoliceBand, Peter Brotzmann, Mats Gustafsson, Christian Marclay, Miles Davis, Arthur Lyman, The Free Design, CMYK, Jan Garbrek, Flamma Flamma, many many traditional muslim, african, sufi and balinese rituals and some ambients (from southamerican bordels, trains, CBGB,…) … (with no especific order). Probabily you will not notice many of these artists in the podcast because sometimes we are using 6 channels at the same time, using only discrete details, loops or frequencies from the songs creating an all new thing.

The material used was:

- 4 CDj (2 of them from stone age)

- 1 turntable

- a tape recorder with a train trip

- an old amateur radio mixer from the 80′s, with analogic reverb and echo

- a pair of old headphones used as a microphone and

- our dear 7 channel UREI mixer
